Sedona Soul Retreat: A Journey of Discovery
There is a specific kind of silence that only exists in the high desert of Arizona. It’s not the absence of sound, but rather a profound, vibrating presence: a hum of ancient earth that seems to match the rhythm of your own heartbeat if you sit still long enough.
I first came to Sedona at the end of a Grand Canyon guiding trip with another company I worked for. I was still very much in work mode, but the land left an impression on me anyway. There was some- thing about those red rocks, that light, and that silence that seemed to speak to you whether you ar- rived searching for something or not.
This October, from the 1st to the 4th, I want to take you there. I want you to feel that same grounding energy, but this time, you won’t be doing it alone. We’re going together.
The Magic of an October Bloom
If you’ve never seen Sedona in the fall, you haven't truly seen her. While the rest of the country is bracing for the cold, Sedona is putting on a majestic show. The valley below the crimson peaks turns into a sea of flickering gold and amber as the leaves change. The air is crisp: just enough to justify a cozy sweater in the morning: but the sun remains that iconic, warm desert embrace throughout the day.
It’s the "perfect" time. The light is softer, the shadows are longer, and there’s a refined energy in the air that feels like a collective exhale. It’s during these transitions of the seasons that we often find our own greatest moments of personal growth.
Walking the Sacred Path
Our journey isn't just about sightseeing; it’s about immersion. We’ve partnered with Sedona Sacred Land Journeys to facilitate an experience that goes far deeper than a standard tour. We’ll be led by a native indigenous guide who understands the bones of this land.
As the sun begins its slow descent, painting the sky in bruised purples and fiery oranges, we’ll embark on a sacred land walk. You’ll be encouraged to release what no longer serves you: a practice I’ve of- ten written about in my thoughts on solo travel and letting go: and set intentions for the version of yourself you are becoming.
Vortexes, Jeeps, and Cosmic Vibrations
You can’t go to Sedona without visiting a vortex. These are areas of heightened energy where the earth’s power is said to be swirling and palpable. We’ll be taking a private Jeep tour designed to com- fortably bring us to some of Sedona’s most meaningful vortex areas, where you can take in the land- scape and experience the different spiritual elements the area is known for. Whether you’re a skeptic or a seeker, there is an undeniable "vibe" at these sites that leaves you feeling lighter, clearer, and strangely energized.
But the real magic happens when the sun goes down.
Imagine getting comfortable on the house patio, with soft layers and the night air all around you, as a vast canopy of stars reveals itself above you. These sound bath experiences are led as part of our wellness offerings, creating an evening that feels luxurious, restful, and deeply grounding after a full day in the red rocks. The resonance of crystal singing bowls will drift through the evening air, creating a soothing atmosphere designed to calm your nervous system and help you fully exhale.
A Home for the Soul
During this retreat, we aren't retreating to a cold, sterile hotel. We are sharing a beautiful, high-end house that serves as our sanctuary. Every morning begins with a wellness class in our shared space: gentle movement and breathwork to wake up the body before the desert sun gets too high, with sound baths woven into the wellness experience.
I’ve always believed that the most profound travel experiences happen in the "in-between" moments. It’s the late-night conversations in the kitchen, the shared meals, and the laughter over coffee that turn a group of strangers into a tribe. We’ve curated this space to be understated yet refined, a place where you can truly kick off your shoes and be yourself.
Exploring the "Rhythm" of the Town
Of course, we’ll also make time for the delightful quirks of Sedona’s town center. I’ll be taking you in- to town for something special, and then you’ll have time to explore on your own. You’ll have plenty of free time to wander the local boutiques, find that perfect crystal, or simply sit in a cafe and watch the world go by. Sedona rewards every kind of traveler, whether you’re looking for a deep spiritual over- haul or just a really good piece of turquoise jewelry.
